Position Information The full salary range for the Environmental Programs Manager is $90,400.00 - $169,000.00 annually. However, the expected pay scale for this position is up to $122,160.00 annually. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs. The Environmental Programs Manager promotes achievement of campus environmental protection goals through the oversight and management of air quality, water quality, and remediation programs. Under direction, the Manager will develop, implement, and maintain campus environmental programs in support of the campus Integrated Safety and Environmental Management (ISEM) program and help the campus comply with state and federal regulations. Professional level administration and management of environmental protection programs includes independent development and outreach to a variety of customers at multiple levels throughout the University. Collaboration and communication efforts include internal departments and external partners to ensure organizational communication and cooperation. This position positively promotes the organization by demonstrating a high level of professionalism and support for organizational values and expectations. Federal, state, or local government directives may impose additional requirements. Education Education Requirements Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training. (Required) Certification Requirements Professional certification. (Preferred) Professional Engineer (Chemical or Environmental) (Preferred) Registered Environmental Manager (REM) (Preferred) Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM) (Preferred) Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) (Preferred) Certified Professional Environmental Auditor (CPEA) (Preferred) Certified Safety Professional (CSP) (Preferred) Experience Requirements Experience in reporting to the California Air Resources Board. (Required) Experience in South Coast Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD) permitting and reporting. (Required) Experience in National Pollution Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permits and orders, including Phase I or Phase II MS4. (Required) 6 - 10 years of related experience. (Required) Minimum Requirements Advanced skill to appropriately use technology and relevant scientific equipment as required. Advanced analytical and organizational skills to organize, prioritize and manage the successful completion of projects within budget and time constraints. Advanced or expert knowledge and skill in applying and interpreting applicable local, state, and federal regulations and related standards, guidelines and, as appropriate, recommend organization policy. Advanced skill to effectively represent the organization to state and federal authorities, and community groups. Advanced or expert knowledge/understanding of broad range of EH&S fields and familiarity with all EH&S fields. Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communications skills, including advanced political acumen and skill to effectively communicate with diverse constituencies in a highly political environment. Advanced skill in mentoring or overseeing the work of other EH&S technical and professional staff.
