Essential Duties and Responsibilities for the Business Development Consultant l
Additional functions and requirements may be assigned by supervisors as deemed appropriate.

Initiate and maintain regular contact with both core and non-core SEGs and schedule on-going visits and presentation to promote Credit Union membership
Help plan and coordinate special events to include, but not limited to, community events, annual meeting, membership events, etc.
Researches all SEG and chambers we serve for community events for involvement and participation
Identify new business opportunities to grow membership
Along with Director of Business Development & Community Relations creates business development campaigns to introduce new products / services or increase members' usage of existing services
Open new accounts and loans on Symitar/Meridian Link and follow-up sales calls with strong product and service recommendations as well as benefit statements for all products and services provided
Works as liaison with Chamber of Commerce
Submits suggestions and ideas for improving efficiency, productivity, and results of Business Development efforts
Develop tracking reports necessary to show all SEG, educational contacts, and business member products/services and penetration results based on the initiatives of this position. Provides monthly status report of contacts made
Actively involved with youth educational programs such as the Money101, Auto Buying 101 and Credit 101 presentations and Bite of Reality events
Work with teachers at school SEGs to implement and strengthen the Everfi At School program
Coordinates and plans seminars and financial literacy events with our SEG partners.
Routinely listens to determine the best product(s) or service(s) for the member; provides our members with information concerning Credit Union eligibility, loan and share products and other related services, effectively cross sells, educate members and ask for business; accurately opens share, checking, certificates, loans, and other service accounts
Data input of SEG information into the ACT program
Ensure compliance with the credit union policies and procedures in all job-related functions

Other Skills and Abilities

Comfortable with presenting materials in front of large groups of people.
Demonstrated ability to prepare clear and concise written recommendations
Demonstrated aptitude to troubleshoot issues as they arise in a timely manner
Demonstrated project management skills with successful implementation
Knowledgeable of Microsoft Office programs with strong Excel skills
Maintain a working knowledge of policies, procedures, agreements, and laws necessary to perform job duties effectively
Ability to prioritize, adapt to change, and efficiently handle a variety of tasks in a busy and dynamic work environment
Ability to work with diverse personalities and populations
Able to lead through influence in a collaborative environment by motivating
A valid California Class C Driver License, a method of transportation when needed to carry out job-related essential functions, and at least minimum automobile insurance coverage as required by the State of California

Requirements:

College degree preferable or equivalent combined education and work experience of a minimum of three years--additional college coursework in business or finance preferred
1-3 years of related experience in a financial institution (Credit Union preferred)
Thorough knowledge of Credit Union services and products
