SUMMARY OF POSITIONThe Manufacturing Engineer, Process, Orchid Arcadia carries out engineering assignments of limited scope and complexity. The Manufacturing Engineer, Process, Orchid Arcadia is responsible for a project or operation requiring a thorough knowledge of engineering and related fields (quality control, time and motion studies, etc.). Work is reviewed and guidance given by more senior engineers. This position may provide limited technical guidance to junior professionals or technicians working on a common project. The Manufacturing Engineer, Process, Orchid Arcadia reports to the Manager, Manufacturing Engineering and is part of the Engineering department.SHIFTNo Shift ($0) (United States of America)WHAT YOU WILL DOTroubleshoot manufacturing processes at the shop floor level using knowledge of cutting tool applications, GD&T, and proficient use of precision measuring instruments.Develop, maintain and improve manufacturing processes in order to maximize process performance, machine utilization, reduce setup times and support NPI.Manage and support small and large scope projects including, but not limited to: Machining, Laser Marking, Polishing, Cosmetic Finishing, and Packaging.Actively participate in DFM reviews with customers concerning drawings, 3D models and specifications to facilitate manufacturability.Create and coordinate project timelines and associated process flows in order to understand, communicate and meet project milestones such as launch dates, lab testing dates, and FDA submission dates.Create, request or update various documentation pertaining to projects such as inspection forms, attribute charts, customer-specific requirements, forecasting, quality agreements, non-disclosure agreements (NDA), routings and BOMs.Define, write and communicate various process and inspection requirements as project demands dictate.Design and manage the fabrication or acquisition of fixtures used in various processes including Machining, Blasting, and/or Lasermarking, etc. Ensure successful implementation of said fixtures on production floor.Follow initial production lots through production process, identifying and eliminating potential concerns and problems, answering operator questions; inspecting initial lot or first piece at Final Inspection to ensure identified procedures are followed and concerns are eliminated prior to full production.Provide training and support to supervisors, inspectors, team leads and floor employees in areas of critical importance.Participate in and occasionally lead problem solving teams utilizing lean manufacturing methodologies.Create or assist in creation of Laser Marking programs, CNC programs, 3D models, associated fixturing, drawings, templates, overlays, etc.Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following company standards and procedures.
