working with Cynet Health to find a qualified PCU RN in Redlands,
California, 92373! Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing
Specialty: Step Down Care Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per
Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in a
similar setting License: Valid nursing license required
Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIH Must-Have: 1:3 patient ratio
experience with tracheostomy and ventilator management is required.
Non-titrated cardiac drip management experience is required.
Description: Single set of requested time off up to 7 consecutive
days will be considered. 1:3 patient ratio with tracheostomy and
ventilator management is required. Non-titrated cardiac drip
management, including Amiodarone, Milrinone, Lasix, Cardizem,
Dopamine, and Dobutamine, is required. Insulin 3:1 experience is
preferred but not required. Certifications required include NIH,
ACLS, and BLS (AHA only). Meditech experience is preferred.
First-time travelers with step-down experience in a 1:3-4 ratio
will be considered. Weekend availability of a minimum of 2 weekends
per month is required. Float within areas of competency, including
med/surg, telemetry, and observation, is required. Experience with
the Omnicell medication system and SBAR communication is preferred.
The facility provides provider support, including interpretation
services, lift teams, pharmacy, phlebotomy, physical therapy,
radiology, rapid response teams, respiratory services, social
services, and unit secretary support. There will be intensivist and
hospitalist provider coverage. Skills and experience required
include telemetry, post-myocardial infarction care, feeding tube
management, pre/post hemodialysis management, renal failure
management, accessing and managing ports, blood product
administration, central line and peripheral line care/management,
PICC line management, starting and maintaining IVs, managing
heparin protocols, and managing cardiac and vasoactive drips
without titration. Care for ventilated patients and management of
chest tubes, bi-level positive airway pressure (BiPAP), continuous
positive airway pressure (CPAP), and high-flow nasal cannula (HFNC)
is required. Ability to interpret arterial blood gases and provide
non-invasive airway management is required, along with tracheostomy
care and isolation precautions. Wound care and management,
including wound vacs, are also necessary skills. Candidates must
possess experience managing patients with conditions such as
sepsis, stroke, diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA), respiratory failure,
chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), pneumonia, acute
coronary syndrome, alcohol withdrawal, chronic heart failure, and
acute on chronic renal failure. Additional preferred skills include
experience with post-cardiac angiogram procedures, IV insulin
protocols, titration of insulin drips, and post/neurosurgery
