Job Summary

• Responsible to coordinate and oversee the daily activities of the surgical area in the market Essential Functions
  • Ensures the daily operations of the departments including staff scheduling, ensuring the delivery of optimal patient care
  • Develop new methods to improve existing systems or operations
  • Assess developmental needs of staff and develop continuing education and quality assurance programs to optimize patient care
  • Research supplies, instruments and equipment and recommend purchases to the Market CEO
  • Assist in the selection, training and evaluation of subordinates and initiate personnel actions in accordance with Human Resources policies and organization philosophy
  • Maintain the necessary level of professional knowledge and technical proficiency in areas of functional responsibility
  • Complete required continuous training and education, including department-specific requirements
  • Ensures the use of established personal protective equipment requirements necessary for protection against exposure to blood and other potentially infectious body fluids, chemical disinfectants, radiation, asbestos, and other hazardous substances
  • Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served within the unit Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/Expectations
    • Must read, write and speak fluent English
    • Basic computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Office, word-processing and spreadsheet software
    • Must have good and regular attendance
    • Approximate percent of time required to travel; 5%
    • Performs other related duties as assigned Salary Range: $48.32 - $61.28/Hour
      
      Qualifications
      
      Education
      • Associate in Nursing degree Licenses/Certifications
        • Valid state license as Registered Nurse
        • ANOR certification preferred
        • BLS certification required Experience
          • Three years of operating room experience as a Registered Nurse preferred
