behavioral health services, foster care and social services,
housing, continuing adult education and early childhood education
programs to Medi-Cal eligible individuals and families. Our diverse

over 22 languages to our region's culturally and ethnically diverse
populations. We provide services in 18 counties across
California.

Stockton, Tulare and Ventura.

The Position
The Communications Manager is part of a statewide Public Relations
function that develops and implements communication strategies to
engage and inspire stakeholders. The communications manager works
with assigned regions or business functions to build communications
that align with Pacific Clinics' vision and strategy, helping to
drive employees' and external stakeholders' understanding and
engagement on priorities and key initiatives. including employees.
This position requires skills in communications, public relations,
media relations, content strategy, understanding target audience,
public relations data and analytics, proactive and reactive
communication efforts and project management, experience managing
proactive and reactive communication efforts, and a passion for
storytelling. Experience in corporate communications/employee
communications and stellar writing skills required.
- Contributes to the department development, implementation, and
evaluation of the annual business plan, collaborating with the
Chief Communications Officer and Director of Communications.
Develops strategic communications planning, content development and
execution across various communications channels.
- Builds and leads a communications program to shape employee
engagement; ensures that Pacific Clinics takes full advantage of
new communications tactics and creates innovative ways to share
information with and motivate employees.
- Manages external communications strategy in partnership with
Public Relations team, including developing compelling key messages
including talking points for speakers and ghostwriting for leaders
and departments.
- Serves as a writer and editor, composing creative briefs and
original drafts.
- Develops articles for owned and paid media. Produces content
for internal and external newsletters and blogs, reviewing
readership and click-thru rates and identifying opportunities for
improvement.
- Identifies newsworthy opportunities within regions or
functions; produce press releases and pitch ideas. Analyze earned
media and message pull-through; work with the director of
communications and chief communications officers on media
responses. Develops board-ready level reports on performance.
- Supports the department by maintaining the digital asset
management database and maintaining HIPAA media releases and other
documents. Ensures that all communications meet compliance
standards.
- Supports film production, social media, collateral development
and marketing as required by drafting content or editing.
- Develops and maintains an issues management tracker detailing
all potential reputational issues of concern to the agency. Support
crisis communications, as required.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's Degree (BA) in Journalism, Communications, Public
Affairs, Public Relations, Liberal Arts, Marketing or related field
required. Master's Degree and APR, a plus.
- Five (5) years progressive experience in communications, with
an emphasis on internal and external communications, project
management and employee engagement.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure
in fast-paced environment.
- Highly detail-oriented, with excellent planning and
follow-through skills. Must be able to deliver and complete
projects without supervision.
- Outstanding written and verbal skills, and proven experience
managing high level communication plans and employee engagement
events.
- Attention to detail, highly-organized with creative instincts
and an entrepreneurial spirit.
- Demonstrated ability to develop effective executive
communication content, articles, and press releases requiring
minimal editing and rework.
- Ability to translate complicated concepts into clear,
compelling language for audiences ranging from key stakeholders to
media to consumers.
- Ability to interact with senior management and provide counsel
on corporate communications with confidence and ease. Must be able
to interact with employees at all levels, including senior
executives and able to handle highly sensitive and confidential
information.
- Ability to work both independently and within a team to
effectively produce quality work product; experience managing
contractors.
- Strong work ethic and ability to multi-task/manage multiple
priorities and deadlines.
- Organized, detailed, adaptable, and personable;
results-oriented and team player.
- Available to work evening and weekends as needed. Light travel
required, as needed.
- Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills
required.
- Strong video production a plus.
- Strong computer and technical skills required, particularly the
use of Microsoft Office applications.
- Knowledge and ability to quickly develop press releases and
write articles in AP format is essential.
- Must pass Department of Justice (DOJ), Federal Bureau of
Investigations (FBI), background clearance.
- Must possess a valid California driver's license and maintain
an insurable driving record under the Clinics' liability
policy.
