We offer solutions from feasibility studies, full engineering design services to close out and preparation of as-built recordings.Job DescriptionWest Power Energy is looking for an AutoCAD Drafter to join our team in the greater Los Angeles area in Arcadia, CA, or San Diego, CA office. The successful candidate will report directly to the Director of Engineering. The primary duties include:

• Use computer-aided drafting tools such as AutoCAD, and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D to create detailed drawings.
• Develop transmission line plan & profile drawings, alignment maps, fiber splice maps, conductor data templates, pole datasheets, transmission/distribution line hardware details, material lists, and grounding details.
• Draw map(s) using the correct mapping symbols, callouts, decals, property tie-downs, etc.
• Prepare drawings from scratch utilizing reference drawings, images, pdf's, hand sketches, or engineer-provided markups
• Produce work/plan redline markup and comments
• Take ownership of the quality and accuracy of one's work
• Interact and work with the project team to provide integrated services and support
• Participate in project reviews as needed to ensure CAD work is on schedule
• Additional duties as assignedQualificationsRequired
  • A High School diploma or GED is required
  • Certification in Drafting/Design/CAD or currently pursuing a degree in a related field or Associates Degree in a related field is strongly preferred
  • Two (2) or more years of experience with AutoCAD 2016+
  • Knowledge of drafting principles, techniques, and procedures
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize, review own work, and meet deadlines
  • Ability to collaborate and work well under pressure in a professional and fast-paced environment
  • Proficient using Microsoft Office suite (e.g., Excel, Word, and Outlook)
  • Experience with Microstation, Bentley, AutoCAD 3D, and/or ARC-GIS software is a plus
  • Experience with Transmission and/or Distribution Utility projects is strongly preferred
